We help you to reduce your barriers to success and become the best autistic person you can be.

Life can be very frustrating. Even downright unfair. As an autistic person, you will often face barriers and challenges to everyday life that other people without the condition won’t. Whatever your particular issues are, Aspiedent is well-placed to help you.

Understanding how your autism or aspergers affects you as an individual can be liberating. We can help you to understand your own autism by conducting an autism profile or you can apply this to yourself when taking part in Aspiedent’s Social Skills Training which is taught from the autistic perspective by an autistic person.

It may be that you have been on numerous work programmes and you are still struggling to find employment. We can offer you Autism Employment Preparation Training which is different from the rest. We don’t do CVs and interview skills, although we can refer you to other organisations that do. We look at your strengths and weaknesses, teach you how to be assertive, and help match you to the kinds of jobs you will excel at. These are just some examples of how we can help you.

It may be that you don’t need help with employment but would benefit from a better understanding of how you think and perceive the world, or how your sensory issues affect you. For others, the value of working with Aspiedent comes through an increased understanding of how the rest of the world works, including why non-autistic people act so strangely sometimes! We understand that autism and anxiety, and autism and depression are often experienced simultaneously. We offer empathy and do not judge.

Aspiedent’s approach is different since we are autism-led. Our Director and Trainer Dr Elizabeth Guest has autism. We are also continually doing autism research and research into the things that matter to the autistic people that we work with. Our service could change your life for the better, so it is well worth giving us a chance. Especially if you have had support for your autism or for employment in the past and it has not been as successful as you had hoped.

Aspiedent services are bespoke. We run the Social Skills Training and Autism Employment Preparation sessions in small groups. However we also offer 1-2-1 appointments if that would suit you better. We are happy to meet you before you start any group sessions so you can find out more about what to expect.
